Tomorrow is my company's Christmas party, and I must about the only person who would rather go to work.
The party is during the day, and we all have what essentially adds up to a day off for it, but my team has a super-tight deadline coming up - it's likely we'll have to work a few weekends and the first few days of the Christmas break to make it.
We could really use that day.
It also doesn't help that I actually don't like Christmas parties and generally do my best to avoid them. In normal circumstances they are pretty easy to bow out of, but in this case it may as well be mandatory - and that irks me. Basically, I plan to stay for the smallest amount of time I can get away with, then come home.
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of things I like about my job - and I am well aware I'm mental for complaining about a day out paid for by the company - but this is one event I'm really not looking forward to.
